The Journey to Financial Independence

As we prepare to embark on this series on personal finance, let’s reflect on a story that many of us can relate to in our daily lives.

In the beginning, as we entered school in kindergarten, all friends were equal; there was nothing to differentiate us in our minds. As we progressed to class 5, we began to see groupism or early professionalism where some students excelled academically, others in sports, some in the arts, and a few seemed to struggle to find their place. As we grew older, economic barriers emerged, further differentiating our friendships. This separation continued
as each student ventured into their chosen field, striving to establish a career.

Another significant factor is the varying levels of maturity among students, influenced by economic background, societal environment, and family circumstances. These factors play a crucial role in shaping our careers and are ever-present, especially in today’s world where social media keeps everyone within sight.

Around the age of 25, we often look around and see friends who have become doctors, engineers, or high-ranking government officials, while we may not have reached the same level of apparent success. This realization can lead to feelings of inadequacy and failure. However, if we retrospect our student life, we may notice that these “successful” individuals simply utilized their time more effectively and maturely.
